We at McStrong Safety Services know how life/work can get busy sometimes, so each month Catherine attends the Alberta Motor Transport Association meetings in Grande Prairie and creates an informative Newsletter regarding information shared. Below are pictures of the previous monthly Newsletters and once the new one is finished, it will be shared on our website and facebook page. Some highlights

Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society or also known as STARS-

"We have all seen the red helicopter flying around the city coming to and from the hospital. We also know that when the STARS helicopter is mobile, it is far to  often that a severe accident has occurred and someone(s) needs medical help immediately."

 

No Need for Speed-

"During the long Easter weekend 2015, it was estimated that 300 speeding tickets were given. In one case, there was a man who was driving 178km/hr in the city!"

Highway 40 a Serious Issue- 

"Although highway 40 is  dangerous road with all its sharp corners, severe weather conditions, lack of passing lanes among other factors, the number one contributing factor is driver error."

 

AMTA Trucking Driving Simulator-

"Ever wonder what it would be like to drive a commerical vehicle or need training, well with the AMTA Truck driving simulator, you can!"

Overhead Door Safety Precautions-

"Wear and fatigue will occur over time but with overhead doors, the smallest problem if not taken care of right away, can cause exponential problems."

 

Intersection Safety Month-

"For instance, going through a red light at an intersection can get you a $388 ticket plus 3 demerit points taken off. Another examplie is, if you do not let the pedestrian get across from curb to curb, you could get a $777 ticket plus 4 demerit points taken off."

Distracted Driving Epidemic-

"Leave that text unanswered until you can reply in a safe manner. No one wants the text or call saying that a loved one was killed because you couldn’t leave your cell phone alone for the few moments while driving. Start keeping safety in mind and drive with precision and caution."

Some highlights

Cargo and Theft Recovery-

"IBC-Insurance Bureau of Canada partners with the enforcement, CTA, CVSA extensively and has some of the best investigators (some of which are retired police officers) working together to recover your stolen property."

 

Occupational Restraints for Month of March-

"It should be a habit by now that seatbelts be worn at all times but statistics say that in 2014, 67 fatalities were unbelted."
